Year in School: Freshman
Hometown: Peoria, IL
Kicking off my summer by attending freshman orientation gave me a new outlook on just how excited I am to attend NIU.
Although my nerves were rushing, I was excited to go to orientation and experience the true feeling of being a Huskie. My favorite part of orientation was stepping into the football stadium and learning some of the chants commonly used at football games. I also enjoyed getting the chance to stay in a residence hall and experiencing what it would feel like for my next four years. After attending orientation I left knowing that I am a part of the Huskie family and have an exciting future headed my way. My best advice for future Huskies is to keep an open mind going into orientation and to not be afraid to meet new people!
