Image 01: Matt Deland and Co. depart NIU for Indianapolis, IN; Merrillville, IN and St. Louis, MO on a week-long adventure in sales!
Image 02: First day of Sales on Wheels is in the books. Lunch with White Lodging and dinner with Impact Networking were phenomenal and memorable learning experiences. We’ll start again tomorrow bright and early; now it’s time for some sleep. Goodnight Indy.
Image 03: Sales insights from @indianapolismotorspeedway today. The folks here were nice enough to let our bus driver, Chuck, drive the NIU bus on the racetrack! Now, we didn’t get to go the 200+ mph the drivers do, but how cool is this? Loving my time out here in Indy. Tomorrow, St. Louis.
Image 04: Halfway through the long drive from Indianapolis to St. Louis. On the itinerary for today is a meeting with Angie Ignatowski from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices about relocation, an Anheuser Busch Brewery tour and dinner with McKesson at Busch Stadium!
Image 05: Tour at Anheuser Busch today was incredible. Dinner with McKesson was a huge learning opportunity. Being able to talk to leadership and sales reps over dinner was a great way to have a candid and open conversation about the realities of relocation and the position. Tomorrow, St. Louis Blues game in the Enterprise suite!
Image 06: McKesson visit today and a tour of its distribution center. McKesson’s VP of Sales told us NIU Alumni make up the majority of its President Club winning top sales people out of sales people for the whole company and country. Huskies really do make the best sales people and now we have the proof!
Image 07: In enemy territory, but it’s cool because we’re in the suite. Thanks Enterprise!
Image 08: Center ice!
Image 09: Enterprise global headquarters today was incredible. And just like that, the week, and the trip, are over. We’ll start the long drive back home now. But we’re not coming home empty handed: at the end of our meeting in the Enterprise board room, Drew Butts read the offer letter NIU Senior Professional Sales Student Kate Wirthlin was extended from her job offer from Enterprise! Congratulations Kate! Just one of many offers our sales students receive. More proof that Huskies make the best sales people and students.
Image 10: Bittersweet to be heading home. This week has been unbelievable. If you would have told me back in 2011 when I decided to go back to school that only 4 years later I’d be meeting and networking with with organizations like the Fortune 11 company McKesson, White Lodging, Impact Networking and giving a presentation in the boardroom at Enterprise Holdings global headquarters, I would have never believed you. So grateful for this opportunity and proud to be in the NIU Professional Sales Program and representing NIU. Here’s to another milestone on the path to a successful career built by NIU.
